For your device to be eligible for custom ROM, it need to be rooted. Once it is rooted, please have a look at few other pre-requirements before starting with custom ROM installation procedure:
- Make sure your phone has enough charge remaining. For instance, it should have at least 75% of charge remaining.
- You will need to connect your phone to your PC. So make sure you have downloaded and installed latest USB drivers of your device on your computer.
- Backup all your important data like contacts, SMS, call history and other apps data.
These are few important things that you need to cover before proceeding with installation process. When done with these, you are free to proceed.
Update Galaxy Star Pro S7262 to Android 4.4 KitKat
First and most important step is to download Android 4.4 ROM for your phone. Once it is downloaded, place the .zip file on your desktop.
Now you will need to transfer that downloaded file to your computer. For that connect your phone to your computer via USB cable and transfer that .zip folder to your phone SD card.
Turn Off your smartphone and move it to recovery mode. For that turn it ON by pressing and holding “Power, Volume Up and Home” buttons for little time.
Once your Star Pro is in recovery mode, you will need to remove the previous OS. For that select “Wipe data/Factory reset” option.
Once its completed, select “Wipe cache partition” option. After that you’re ready to install the custom ROM on your phone.
For that go back to main menu and select “install zip from sdcard” and after that select “choose zip from sdcard” browse for the .zip file you have transfer to your phone SD card.
The installation process will take few minutes and once it is completed, reboot your smartphone. Your phone will reboot with Android 4.4 KitKat on it. Enjoy!
