T-Mobile surprised its Galaxy S6 Edge owners by rolling out OTA based on latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for its S6 Edge customers. This might look very strange as Samsung has a reputation of always delaying official updates for its devices particularly when its comes to carriers but for the past few weeks, the company is continuously pushing out Lollipop updates for its various devices.
Since Android 5.1.1 is a major update, so expect lot of changes and improvements including fix for auto brightness issue that has been annoying many S6 Edge users and improvement in battery life. This Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for T-Mobile Galaxy S6 Edge is available over Samsung Kies and will also make its way to users over the air as well. However the update, as usual, will be rolled out in phases which can take up to several days. So if you haven’t yet got OTA notification on your device, then no need to be panic. Typically when a phone becomes eligible for new OTA update, a message is displayed in notification bar that a new system update is available for download.
